Seventh grade (also 7th Grade or Grade 7) is the seventh year of formal or compulsory education. The seventh grade is typically the first or second year of middle school. In the United States, kids in seventh grade are usually around 12–13 years old. Different terms and numbers are used in other parts of the world.
JEI Math offers a comprehensive program for pre-K through 9th grade. There are approximately 36 weekly workbooks per grade level, and each weekly workbook consists of 16 pages. At the end of each weekly workbook is an interim test on the material learnt throughout the week. JEI Math curriculum is aligned with Common Core State Standards. [5]

A typical sequence of secondary-school (grades 6 to 12) courses in mathematics reads: Pre-Algebra (7th or 8th grade), Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus, and Calculus or Statistics. However, some students enroll in integrated programs [3] while many complete high school without passing Calculus or Statistics.
Precalculus is the exception to the rule, as it usually integrates algebra, trigonometry, and geometry topics. Statistics may be integrated into all the courses or presented as a separate course. New York State began using integrated math curricula in the 1980s, [ 4 ] but recently returned to a traditional curriculum.
Interested students in 5th to 7th grade are eligible to take a qualifying exam in April. Students who pass the qualifying exam are invited to enroll in UMTYMP's Algebra I/II class in the fall or may defer their enrollment for a year. Non-UMTYMP students in 7th to 10th grade may take an entrance exam to begin the calculus component.

For younger pupils, books are often collected at the end of each lesson for review, scoring, or grading. Loose worksheets may be pasted into the book so that they are bound with other work. In some schools, exercise books may be colour-coded depending on the subject. For example, biology might be green and algebra blue.
