The act forming the county was approved by the Indiana General Assembly on January 29, 1830, and created Clinton from the eastern parts of neighboring Tippecanoe County. Lieutenant General James F. Owen Township is one of the fourteen townships in Clinton County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 879 (down from 930 at 2010 [4]) and it contained 346 housing units. The township was named after Robert Dale Owen of New Harmony. [5]
