Bastar state was a princely state in India during the British Raj. It was founded in the early 13th century by Annamaraja, a brother of the last ruler of the Kakatiya dynasty , Prataparudra II . It is today used to refer to the same region, called Bastar division in Chhattisgarh state.

Rani Profulla Kumari Devi of Bastar (1910 – 28 Feb 1936) was the Rani regnant (queen regnant) of the Indian Princely Bastar State between 1922 and 1936. [1] Her father Raja Rudra Pratap Deo died on the 16th November 1921 and she succeeded her father on the 23rd November 1922. [2] She succeeded Rudra Pratap Deo on 23 November 1922.
[6] [7] She received three gold albums with the Southwest Michigan State Choir, and went on to write and arrange hundreds of songs and recorded over 50 albums. She directed Cadillac Motor Company's Christmas choir for 11 years and also conducted community-wide mass choirs for the prestigious NAACP Freedom Fund Dinners.
