Oldham County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,758. [1] Its county seat is Vega. [2] The county was created in 1876 and organized in 1881. [3] Oldham County is included in the Amarillo, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area.
On October 17, 1899, he purchased part of Oldham County known as Section 90 at a per-acre rate of US$1 (equivalent to $36.62 in 2023). [4] In 1903, Whitfield sold a 100-foot (30 m) strip of land that extended across the southern part of Oldham County to the Choctaw, Oklahoma, and Texas (later Rock Island) Railroad as a right-of-way.
