The Royal Dublin Golf Club, founded in 1885, is Ireland's third oldest golf club. It is a private members' club, with an 18-hole links course on Bull Island , Dublin , Ireland . The championship routing that we recognise today was by designed by Harry Colt in the 1920s.

Portmarnock was the venue for the first Irish Open in 1927, and has hosted the tournament on many occasions since, including 13 following its revival in 1975. [1] Many other important golf tournaments have been held at the club, including the British Amateur Championship in 1949 and 2019, the Walker Cup in 1991, and the Canada Cup in 1960.
The Palmer North Course was the venue for the Ryder Cup in 2006, the first time the event had been staged in Ireland. The course also hosted the Smurfit European Open on the European Tour from 1995 to 2003 and again in 2005 , with that tournament being played on the resort's "inland links " Palmer South Course in 2004 , 2006 , and 2007 .

Foxrock (Irish: Carraig an tSionnaigh) [1] is an affluent suburb of Dublin, Ireland. It is within the county of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, in the postal district of Dublin 18 and in the Roman Catholic parish of Foxrock.
The golf club was established in 1924 with the purchase of Elm Park House and its surrounding lands. It opened the following year as a 9-hole golf club with an initial membership of 254 and, in 1926, extended its facilities with the opening of tennis courts .
