Gilchrist Hospice Care, a Medicare/Medicaid-certified hospice program, is the largest not-for-profit hospice organization in the state of Maryland. Since 1994, it has provided services to over 17,000 terminally ill individuals who reside in Baltimore City and Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties.
General inpatient care is an intensive level of care which may be provided in a nursing home, a specially contracted hospice bed or unit in a hospital, or in a free-standing hospice unit.
