Owen Sound (2021 Census population 21,612) is a city in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. The seat of government of Grey County , it is located at the mouths of the Pottawatomi and Sydenham Rivers on an inlet of Georgian Bay .
A plant to filter water for Owen Sound residents was built in 1910; its ruins are still on site. [9] The Inglis family owned a mill at or near the falls until 1932 when the city obtained the property. Another individual, Emil Henkel, operated the mill until 1945 when it was extensively damaged by fire.

Meaford is a municipality in Grey County, Ontario, Canada located on Nottawasaga Bay, a sub-basin of Georgian Bay and Owen Sound Bay, in the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation in southern Ontario.
King's Highway 10, commonly referred to as Highway 10, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario.The highway connects the northern end of Highway 410 just north of Brampton with Owen Sound on the southern shores of Georgian Bay, passing through the towns of Orangeville and Shelburne as well as several smaller villages along the way.
Consequently, associated with both the Chippewas of Saugeen Ojibway Territory and the Saugeen Culture peoples were winter camps around Owen Sound, Cape Croker and the Collingwood area, as well as summer camps in Walkerton, Wiarton, Goderich, Tobermory and Red Bay. Traditional territory also included all of the Saugeen River watershed.
Owen Sound Transit provides local bus service and specialized transit for the city of Owen Sound, Ontario, which is located at the southwest end of Georgian Bay. Both of those services operate out of the downtown transit terminal. Regular bus service consists of a four route system with daytime operations from Monday through Saturday.
