In 2010, Fleischli was awarded an honorary doctorate in law from the University of Wyoming. [3] In 2012, he was presented with an award for his community work including organizing a veterans' trip to Washington D.C. [ 4 ] Fleischli died in Cheyenne, Wyoming , on July 21, 2024, at the age of 98.
Cheyenne (/ ʃ aɪ ˈ æ n / shy-AN or / ʃ aɪ ˈ ɛ n / shy-EN) is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Wyoming, as well as the county seat of Laramie County, with 65,132 residents, per the 2020 census. [6]
Cox was elected to the Wyoming House of Representatives from one of Laramie County's six seats with the Democratic nomination in the 1962 election. [3] [4] [5] He won reelection in the 1964 election and served four terms in the state house. [6] [2] During his tenure in the state house he served as the chair of the Ways and Means committee. [7] [8]
A service was held in the state capitol rotunda in Cheyenne six days later on October 18, 2012, after which time Meyer lay in state until 6 pm. A memorial service followed the next day at Cheyenne Hills Church, a Baptist congregation founded in 1992 and since located at 7505 U.S. Highway 30, [ 5 ] followed by a reception in Meyer's memory.
