My employee 401k is through Fidelity. I don't like our investment options, so I sought out a more self directed approach. Found out we have Brokerage Link, so I signed up and now have a $0 Brokerage Link balance, and I can't figure out how to fund it.
Fidelity if one of my primary personal brokers for multiple accounts, brokerage, cash mgmt, 529, UTMA, etc. but they are behind in the 401k customer and sponsor software user interface. Investment options are generally good, but their pace of interface improvements have been brutally slow and kind of lipstick on a piggish.
I'm quite conflicted on who to choose to start my solo 401k. Sadly, Fidelity does not allow Roth contributions for solo 401ks. I plan to contribute the maximum after-tax amount to then take advantage of the Mega Backdoor Roth rollover, but this still leaves a hefty chunk of money in the traditional instead.
If a third-party advisor manages an account, clients must contact their advisor to enable performance data. If Fidelity manages the account, then performance data will be available online. Also, just so you're aware, performance calculations are published monthly. You must have a whole month of data before you start seeing performance figures.
