This guide is meant to serve as a basic PvP guide for Resto Shaman beginners, not an exhaustive compendium on PvP/Arena strategies and team compositions, although I will touch on those subjects briefly.
An overview of the Restoration Shaman and the value of Haste Hey all, My name is Shaos, and I play on Icecrown. I play a variety of classes, one of my more prominent classes being Shaman. I've spent quite a long time crafting unorthodox builds and theories about Shamans, and testing them in end-game heroic raids.
chain heal makes up a resto shaman without a doubt it makes up around 80-85% of the time if not more depending on the boss. if your really trying to time procs and tidal waves ( timing waves is not hard) just for that one moment when you need to top someone off instead of focusing on maxing your heals with your best heal as in focus your ...
The true guide for a healer should be directed to absolutely every category of players whether new or old, good or bad and need to focus on the most important things for a healer talents, spells, abilities and how they work together, whether in the raid of 25 people full BiS or raid of 25 people 4, 5k gs.
Such an epic guide! Thank you for taking the time to provide all this information! I just hit level 80 with my shamman today. So far my main is Holy Paladin. Some quick questions: 1) Just like a Holy Paladin rarely plays the "raid healer" spot, why would a resto Shamman waste a whole glyph (LHW) and a GCD to heal a tank?
Restoration Shaman Guide for 4.3.4 Iam playing resto shamans for quite a while and after watching some guys having troubles with the decision which gear / gem / stat they should take i decided to write some small but hopefully helpful guide for restoration shamans in 4.3.4. A elemental guide will follow on request(pm).
Elemental Reach, yes, it's good for certain fights, like Ragnaros, but usually it's just better to place your totems properly. Mana Tide has range good enough, Spirit Link is used for stacked raid anyway (like most Resto Shaman AoE) and Mana Spring should never be used by Resto. Elemental Weapons works properly with Earthliving enchant, tested it.
As for ret pally and resto shaman.. it is not really that good a comp, ret pally can not really kill a well geared healer solo (save for some rare.. khmm.. "specially gifted players" that hit double the amount others in same gear can). In 3v3 though I really like ret pally-arms warri and me as resto shaman.
I see Restoration Shaman as a rather underrepresented healer class. It seems like there are a lot more and better skilled healers that play other classes. To me this indicates that Resto is deceptively complicated to play and that many players do not understand the finer inner workings of the class.
