The Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) is a camera formerly installed on the Hubble Space Telescope. The camera was built by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and is roughly the size of a baby grand piano. It was installed by servicing mission 1 in 1993, replacing the telescope's original Wide Field and Planetary Camera (WF/PC).
The optical channel has a field of view of 164 by 164 arcsec (2.7 by 2.7 arcminute, about 8.5% of the diameter of the full moon as seen from Earth) with 0.04 arcsec pixels. This view is comparable to the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 and is slightly smaller than that of the Advanced Camera for Surveys .
The nebula is faint making it difficult to be seen using a telescope. The spherical shape of Abell 33 is mainly caused by its central star not having much of a spin. [ 2 ] The nebula shares similar morphology to another nebula with the same spherical shape, the Owl Nebula ( M 97 ) but is much darker than the owl nebula.
