Mods and custom content work in the same way in the EA App that they do with the Disc, Steam and Origin versions. Nothing has changed in that part of the game. This is what the mods folder path should look like. (C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods) Custom content comes both in .package and .Sims3Pack files.
If any of the custom content is in the .Sims3Pack format, it needs to be copied into the Downloads folder and installed via the Downloads tab in the Sims 3 Launcher. However, you can also convert some .Sims3pack files into .package files using a program called Sims3Pack Multi Installer - https://modthesims.info/d/364038

I need a bit of help since I am from the Southern USA along with how I didn't play the Sims 1 or the Sims 2 (My first sims game I ever played was the Sims 3) I tried to look for Sims 3 CC that is stuff you would see back in the day in the South like furniture, clothes, entertainment, and decor except I don't know if it's because I don't know my way around anywhere except mod the sims or what ...
So I bit the bullet and decided to re download sims 3 plus all my expansions but I'm looking for some good cc (furniture, cas, etc) Im really interested in good skin details and hair. If you guys could drop links to your favorite sites to get cc (besides the sims resource) Id be forever grateful.
There are so many great cc creators for Sims 3, listing all of them would result in this turning into a novel 😅. But off the top of my head, some cc creators I recommend are Simtanico (a little bit of hair, clothing, and other cas stuff) and Faerieland (hair).
Hey there! I’ve been downloading CC for my Sims game for years —however, almost nothing of the CC actually shows up on the game. In my downloads folder, I have over 5,000 files of cc. I even install my custom content on the launcher. When I play, it doesn’t show —I don’t know what to do. Please help me!
\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads Open Launcher > Downloads tab and select the files and click the Install button. After the small batch has been installed, check the Installed Content tab to make sure it's installed.
Find "The Sims 3" folder (Usually C:\Users\"User Name"\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3) Rename it (for example TS3 Backup - it does not matter) Start the game. Close the game. Now try downloading the files from the Sims 3 store (fix 1, step 6)
