In 2007, Furniture Brands announced that Thomasville and Drexel Heritage would increase the number of company-owned stores for their products, but that Broyhill and Lane would close their St. Louis-area stores and focus on selling through furniture stores that sold other brands.
United Furniture Industries Inc. signed an agreement to buy Lane Company by the end of 2017. [14] Heritage sold Lane Ventures to Bassett Furniture Industries for $15.1 million in December 2017. The acquisitions gave Broyhill another 150,000 square feet of floor space, machinery, and a large line of medium-to-low price furniture. In 1954, Broyhill built his first new plant on a 65-acre tract located just outside of Lenoir.
