Area code 918 was created in 1953 as a split from area code 405. Area code 539 was created as an overlay for 918. It became active on April 1, 2011 (although 539 numbers could have been assigned for activation before that date). Mandatory ten-digit dialing became effective on March 5, 2011. Lake Yahola is a reservoir in Tulsa, Oklahoma. [3] The reservoir was completed in 1924. Its primary purpose is to store raw water for treatment and distribution. This city-owned, 2-billion-US-gallon (7,600,000 m 3), concrete-lined lake is an integral part of the Tulsa water supply, and receives water by pipeline from Lake Spavinaw.
