My issue was specifically with the size of my Windows desktop appearing larger than the actual size of my monitor's screen so that parts of it went past the visible area. I did try adjusting my resolution, but it had no effect on my problem beyond making all my icons and text larger; parts of the desktop still went beyond where I could see them.
ADJUSTING VIEWING SCREEN SIZE. Currently my view screen does not conform to the full size of the computer screen. There is an inch of black on each side of the viewing area.
