KLRU (channel 18), branded Austin PBS, is a PBS member television station in Austin, Texas, United States, owned by the Capital of Texas Public Telecommunications Council.In 2022, KLRU moved into its "Austin Media Center" studios located on the Austin Community College Highland Campus, which was redeveloped from the former Highland Mall.
The theater/studio holds 2,750 fans, [3] up from the capacity of 320 at its old space on the University of Texas at Austin campus, and hosts an estimated 100 concerts and 100 private events a year, in addition to the Austin City Limits tapings. KLRU gets 45 days a year, rent-free, to produce each season of program. [4]
