Huddersfield Giants, the town's rugby league club, has won the Rugby Football League Championship seven times, most recently in 1961–62, and the Challenge Cup six times, the last time in 1952–53. The town is also home to the Huddersfield Underbank Rangers, who play in the Rugby League Conference.
