Shankar Mahadevan (3 March 1967) is an Indian playback singer and music composer. Best known for his work in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi films. He has also recorded songs for many non-film albums, teliseries, devotionals and classical. Shankar shot to fame through his 1998 released private album Breathless. [1]
Shankar Mahadevan (born 3 March 1967) is an Indian singer and composer who is part of the Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy trio that writes music for Indian films. In 2023, he was awarded an honorary doctorate ( honoris causa degree) by Birmingham City University .
Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy came up from the ranks of the non-film music scene, performing rock, blues, jazz and pop before entering the film music industry. [12] Shankar Mahadevan, a software engineer, worked on Oracle Version Six and studied Western, Hindustani and Carnatic classical music. He made his debut with the 1985 Marathi film Vahinichi Maya.
