The railway ceased to exist around 1890 as the Blue Ridge Railway and went into foreclosure. Some of the tracks were taken over by Richmond and Danville Railroad which continued the tracks to Atlanta and in 2006 is still operational after more than 100 years of service. The tracks from Columbia still exist and are used by successive companies.

Blue Ridge Depot is a historic train depot in Blue Ridge, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 15, 1982. It is located on Depot Street. The current building was constructed in 1906. [2] The depot is the starting point of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. [3]
