Helge Pedersen (born c. 1955 [1]) is a long-distance motorcyclist originally from Kristiansand, Norway, [1] who now resides in Seattle, Washington. [2] He traveled more than 250,000 miles (400,000 km) touring the world on a BMW R80G/S adventure touring motorcycle between 1982 and 1992. [3]
In 1994 Barr set a world record for riding a Harley-Davidson 83,000 miles around the world, [4] including a 13,000 mile Atlantic to Pacific segment across Northern Europe and Siberia. [5] The bike that Barr used for the journey is currently on display at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington, Ohio.
