Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk. A kibbutz (Hebrew: קִבּוּץ / קיבוץ, lit. ' gathering, clustering '; pl.: kibbutzim קִבּוּצִים / קיבוצים) is an intentional community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture. The first kibbutz, established in 1910, was Degania.
The kibbutz is located near Megiddo Junction, the intersection of highways 65, from Hadera to Afula, and 66, running from Haifa south to the West Bank. The junction is the site of a bus terminal and a high-security prison. The kibbutz was built 600 metres north-east of the site of the depopulated Arab village of Lajjun, now known as Einot Kobi.
The kibbutz was founded on 8 September 1953 by immigrants from Argentina.At first the settlers didn't know how to grow crops and had no acces to water. The inhabitants of the nearby Palestinian village called Meiser invited them to use their well and taught them how to survive.
