A majority of that route was co-signed as the Frank Miller Memorial Scenic Route effective May 14, 2001. [ 5 ] [ 24 ] Between 1998 and 2003, Highway 118's eastern terminus was in Haliburton at Highland Street, the western terminus of Highway 121, which continued east to Paudash.

Highway 48 is an L-shaped route, travelling north through York Region to the southern shores of Lake Simcoe before turning east towards Highway 12. The route is 65.2 kilometres (40.5 mi) long and travels through the municipalities of Markham, Whitchurch-Stouffville, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, and Brock. [3] [4]

The route number was confirmed by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) alongside Highway 412 on February 6, 2015. [4] Prior to this, it was known as the East Durham Link . [ 5 ] Highway 418 opened on December 9, 2019, alongside the extension of Highway 407 to Highways 35 and 115 . [ 3 ]
Highway 134 served as an alternate route to Highway 28 in Peterborough County. It was established in 1975, when a 15-kilometre (9 mi) section of Peterborough County Road 34 between Highway 7 and Highway 28 was upgraded, creating an eastern bypass around the City of Peterborough.
In 1964, the route was extended to Highway 121 in Tory Hill along the route of Highway 500 through the counties of Peterborough and Haliburton. In 1998, the route was transferred to the various counties in which it resided. Today it is known as Kawartha Lakes City Road 6 and 45, Peterborough County Road 503 and Haliburton County Road 503.
