Its engine block is made of grey cast iron with either iron cooling fins (P 50 only) or cast-on aluminium cooling fins (P 50/Z, P 50/1, P 50/2); the latter is referred to as the Alfer design (Aluminium-Ferrum). The bore is 66 mm with a piston stroke of 73 mm. The engines' compression is low, with an ε-number in the 6.7…7.2 range.
The 350 cc UCE found use in the domestic model Thunderbird TwinSpark in a configuration with two sparkplugs per cylinder, with an integrated 5-speed left-shift gearbox. It has not been featured on any of the Bullet models, domestic or otherwise. By 2011, the old cast-iron engine had been completely phased out, including in the Standard 350 model.
