The Byron Center Historical Society is a non profit organization and was originally formed in 1978 primarily for Genealogy research. In 1986 The Historical Society obtained the “Township Hall”, a State Historical Landmark, to utilize for a museum and to house the genealogy archives.

Byron Township is a civil township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 26,927 at the 2010 census, [4] an increase from 20,317 at the 2010 census. [5] Byron Township is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is located just southwest of the city of Grand Rapids.
