On 21 July 2021, UPS Airlines Flight 5X003, a Boeing 747-8F, suffered from an engine fire in the #1 engine shortly after take-off. The flight subsequently made a successful emergency landing on Runway 07L and was met by airport fire crews from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department Main Airport Station which extinguished the flames.
