Shelburne (2021 population 8,994) is a town in Dufferin County, Ontario, Canada, is located at the intersection of Highway 10 and Highway 89. Shelburne hosts the Annual Canadian Championship Old Time Fiddling Contest that is held each August.

King's Highway 10, commonly referred to as Highway 10, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario.The highway connects the northern end of Highway 410 just north of Brampton with Owen Sound on the southern shores of Georgian Bay, passing through the towns of Orangeville and Shelburne as well as several smaller villages along the way.
The principal urban centres along the highway include Alliston, Shelburne and Mount Forest. Outside these towns, the highway travels through rural farmland across a large part of southwestern Ontario. Highway 89 was established in 1937 as a result of the rerouting of Highway 9 between Orangeville and Highway 27.
Built c.1871, the Orangeville Town Hall contains an opera hall, used by the Theatre Orangeville company. Dufferin County is part of two Ontario travel regions. The river begins at an unnamed pond in Melancthon, Dufferin County, that lies between the Toronto, Grey and Bruce Railway line and Ontario Highway 10. It heads southeast past the town of Shelburne, then heads east northeast roughly parallel to Ontario Highway 89 for the remainder of its course.
