Puran (Bhanja Puran or Tamudia Puran) is a caste group of East India. They are primarily inhabitants of Odisha , West Bengal and Jharkhand . [ 1 ] They are currently considered as Other Backward Class , [ 2 ] but Jharkhand and Odisha government proposed to include in Scheduled Tribes list.
