The episode begins as Eric Cartman is called into the principal's office. Although Cartman initially believes he is being punished, he is surprised to learn that it is his turn to be the school's hallway monitor: a duty he takes extremely seriously, assuming the identity of "Dawg the Hallway Monitor" (a parody of Duane "Dog" Chapman).
