Nepal was a late entrant into the modern world of science and technology. Nepal’s first institution of higher education, Tri-Chandra College, was established by Chandra Shumsher in 1918. Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya was officially registered in 1985, under Organizations Registration Act of 1977 of Nepal naming it after late Gen. The school was later shifted to Thapathali Durbar with an Englishman called Kenning as its first teacher.
