The Defenders is an American courtroom drama television series that ran on CBS from 1961 to 1965. It was created by television writer Reginald Rose, and stars E. G. Marshall and Robert Reed as father-and-son defense attorneys Lawrence and Kenneth Preston. Original music for the series was scored by Frank Lewin and Leonard Rosenman.
An elderly man (George Voskovec) steals $6,000 from his son's dress firm in order to pay protection money to racketeers. During his trial for grand larceny, he refuses to name names in order to protect his family. To Lawrence's discomfort, his esteemed college professor (Larry Gates) is prosecuting.

The series were all removed from Netflix on March 1, 2022, after Disney regained the licenses for them, and they began streaming on Disney+ from March 16, where they were collected under the title "The Defenders Saga".
