Open the document in OpenOffice or LibreOffice Writer. Go to File → Send-To → To MediaWiki or File → Export → Save file as: Mediawiki; Select your MediaWiki-server (or click on the button "Add..." to add a new site). Select a title and summary for your article, check the box if it's a minor revision. Click the send button.
Images, audio and video files must be uploaded into Wikipedia using the "Upload file" link on the left-hand navigation bar. Only logged in users can upload files. Once a file is uploaded, other pages can include or link to the file. Uploaded files are given the "File:" prefix by the system, and each one has an image description page.
This template is a cut-down instance of the more general {{Google custom}} template. You may wish to make similar templates if you need to create repetitive links to other portions of Wikipedia that {{Google custom}} can search. This saves much typing compared to using {{Google custom}} for each link.
