Founded in 1988, [4] the magazine was published by Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It came out in quarterly issues in January, April, July, and October. [5] The magazine published its final issue in December 2023. [6] [7] The magazine did not print material which had been published elsewhere.
Michael J. Birkner is an American academic and author. He served as the Benjamin Franklin Chair of Liberal Arts at Gettysburg College from 2001 to 2016 and has taught at the school since 1989. [1]
Spinelli graduated from Gettysburg College in 1963 and acquired his MA from Johns Hopkins University in 1964. In 1977, he married Eileen Mesi, [1] another children's writer. [5] Since about 1980, as Eileen Spinelli, she has collaborated with illustrators to create dozens of picture books. They have six children and 21 grandchildren. [6]
