The Palace Theatre is a 2,695-seat restored movie palace located at 34 W. Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio. It was designed and built in 1926 by the American architect Thomas W. Lamb as part of the American Insurance Union Citadel (now the LeVeque Tower ).
The building sits on a 5-acre lot, on a hill at Taylor Avenue and Atcheson Street, adjacent to the Wexner Medical Center's Outpatient Care East facility and just north of the Ohio State East Hospital. [1] [2] During its operation as a bed and breakfast, the house had three guest rooms, as well as a coach house suite, over top of a two-car garage.
The demolished hospital site in front of the College of Nursing, 2020 Mount Carmel West main entrance in 2017. What would become Mount Carmel West was first known as Hawkes Hospital of Mt. Carmel, and was founded by Dr. W. B. Hawkes (1812–1883).

The building was commissioned as a general hospital, built in 1911, and operated until 1940. It subsequently served as a convalescent home from 1940 to 1946. The building became a hotel, known as the Hotel St. Clair in 1948, operating until 1976. In the early 2000s, the building was renovated for senior citizen housing.
