The Goodies tell of the time when their ancestors were young men, and how their ancestors met for the first time. Graeme's family were Highlanders who lived in bleak conditions in Scotland, where initiation of the young men of the village included being dunked in porridge and catching a wild haggis .

"Big Foot" is an episode of the British comedy television series The Goodies. The episode is also known as "Bigfoot", "In Search of Bigfoot", "Arthur C. Clarke" and "In Search of Arthur C. Clarke". [citation needed] This episode was made by LWT for ITV, and was written by Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie, with songs and music by Bill Oddie.
He wants them to advertise truth, because he is of the opinion that honesty is the miracle ingredient, but Bill and Graeme disagree with Tim's opinion. After sales figures plummet following truth in ads, The Goodies come up with other product options. Tim suggests that String is a pure, wholesome product, and Bill and Graeme agree to exploit it.
Graeme is given curly mop hair, a hairy chest and Groucho Marx-style glasses, nose and moustache. Bill sports a bouffant hairdo, platform shoes and ridiculous false chin. The Goodies wait to meet up with their dates, and soon discover that the computer organised three elderly ladies to be their companions for the night.
Later he was co-writer and performer in the comedy series Broaden Your Mind with Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden, for which he became a cast member for the second series. Oddie, Brooke-Taylor and Garden then co-wrote and appeared in their television comedy series The Goodies (1970–1982).
