Addition Financial Arena (formerly known as CFE Arena and UCF Arena) is a sports and entertainment arena located near Orlando in Orange County, Florida, United States, on the main campus of the University of Central Florida. It was constructed beginning in 2006 as a replacement for the original UCF arena, and as a part of Knights Plaza.
To the west in Knights Plaza is the Addition Financial Arena, The Venue, John Euliano Park, and the UCF Track and Soccer Complex. Also located in Knights Plaza are The Towers residence halls, housing 2,000 UCF students, including student-athletes. [20]
The plaza consists of housing for more than 2,000 students in four towers, 183,000 square feet (17,000 m 2) of commercial space, the 10,000-seat Addition Financial Arena, and the 2,300-seat Venue at UCF Arena. [2]
Additional Financial Arena. In 2007, the arena was replaced by the Addition Financial Arena as the game facility for both the men's and women's basketball teams. The Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, also known as the O'Dome, is a 10,500-seat [1] multi-purpose arena located on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, Florida. The facility is named for the sixth president of the university, Stephen C. O'Connell , who served from 1967 to 1973.
Phase 2 of the plan saw the addition of an amphitheater and an indoor practice field. [8] Initial design concepts saw the amphitheater as an outdoor, covered venue featuring a mezzanine and balcony; with the practice area being a separate building. Both venues were connected to the stadium and parking areas via covered walkway.
In 2013, Addition Financial (then CFE Federal Credit Union) acquired the naming rights for the UCF Arena, a sports and entertainment venue in Orlando, and was named the official financial institution of the UCF Knights. [4] When the credit union changed its name in 2019, the arena was renamed the Addition Financial Arena. [11]
