Hecht Scott syndrome (also known as fibular aplasia–tibial campomelia–oligosyndactyly [FATCO] syndrome) is a rare genetic disease that causes congenital limb formation. [ citation needed ] The main characterisation is the aplasia or hypoplasia of bones (mainly the fibula or tibia ) of the limb. [ 1 ]
Tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA) is an orthopedic procedure to repair deficient cranial cruciate ligaments in dogs. It has also been used in cats. This procedure was developed by Dr. Slobodan Tepic and Professor Pierre Montavon at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zurich, in Zurich, Switzerland beginning in the late 1990s.
The cranial cruciate also resists over-extension and inward rotation, and is the most commonly damaged stifle ligament in dogs. "Cushioning" of the joint is provided by two C-shaped pieces of cartilage called menisci which sit between the medial and lateral condyles of the distal femur and the tibial plateau.
The tibial tuberosity thus forms the terminal part of the large structure that acts as a lever to extend the knee-joint and prevents the knee from collapsing when the foot strikes the ground. [1] The two ligaments, the patella, and the tibial tuberosity are all superficial, easily palpable structures. [2]
The triple tibial osteotomy has been developed as a hybrid of two previously available orthopaedic procedures, the tibial tuberosity advancement and the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy. The tibial tuberosity advancement neutralises shear force within the stifle by advancing the tibial tuberosity until the tibial plateau is at right angles to ...
The Tightrope CCL technique utilizes a very strong suture material called FiberTape and isometric placement of small bone tunnels to provide bone-to-bone fixation while not causing the trauma of cutting through the bone of the tibia like a TPLO - tibial plateau leveling osteotomy or TTA - Tibial tuberosity advancement procedure. The objective ...
The prognosis is good if treatment begins before the fatigue fracture occurs V Dysplastic appearance to the fibula. Pseudarthrosis can be located on either of the two bones of the tibial segment. The prognosis is good if the lesion is located only on the fibula, extension to the tibia has a prognosis similar to type II VI
