Warning- Geek Squad Scam. I got an email with a letter attached that I foolishly opened, saying I was going to be charged almost $500 dollars for a renewal of services. I called the number on the letter to cancel. They said they were going to email me some forms to fill out to cancel, and I realized it was a scam and hung up.

Post the number, I got time to spare. Mmm yes the "Official Geek Squad" sending emails from john.doe@ gmail.com. If you fall for this, you deserve to be scammed. Another one like this. Just got it today. Same fake invoice scam. Already sent an abuse report to the company that owns the number (Twilio).

It's a !refund scam. It could go a number of ways. Usually scammers pretend to be geek squad support to "refund" this transaction, get you to download a remote desktop app, say your computer is hacked/infected and then charge you for their "services" to remove the fake virus. Best Buy / Geek Squad world never send anything from “@gmail.com” looking at the sender is always a good place to stater to indicate if an email is legit or not. Reply reply MC_CrankEwanker
There is a PayPal invoice scam going on in which scammers abuse a legitimate feature of PayPal to send invoices. The emails come in from legit PayPal(.)com. So if you landed on a legit paypal(.)com webpage - and didn't send any $ to a scammer - then you are fine. You might get more scam attempts, but that's about it.
