John Michael McCririck [1] (17 April 1940 – 5 July 2019) was an English horse racing pundit, television personality and journalist.. McCririck began his career at The Sporting Life, where he twice won at the British Press Awards for his campaigning journalism, but his role was terminated in 1984.
Lure was a bay horse who was bred in Kentucky by a partnership of Claiborne Farm and William Haggin Perry's Gamely Corporation. After Perry died, his share in the horse passed to his widow, Nicole Perry Gorman. Lure was a son of leading sire Danzig, who in turn was sired by Hall of Famer and prominent sire Northern Dancer.
