I got the 8yr/75k platinum on my 2012 camry for about $800 and used it for about $2500 worth of parts and labor. I just got my 2020 Rav4 and bought the 10yr/100k platinum for about $1500.
I found the following costs on this forum but keep in mind this is from 2014: Toyota Factory Extra Care Platinum Zero Deductible Warranty. 6 YEAR 75,000 MILES $544.00. 6 YEAR 100,000 MILES $794.00. 6 YEARS 125,000 MILES $1,039.00.

You can buy the extended warranty anytime until the 3/36K miles warranty expires, so you have time to make the decision.
You didn't have to buy the extended warranty in the first place which was a huge bonus. I personally would've saved the $33XX-49XX cad plus 13% hst (7 year Toyota extended warranty cost) for the repair that may or may not happen. Yikes, that "peace of mind" doesn't come cheap.

The cost of the navigation system and JBL to replace would far exceed that amount in a CD for even 5 years.
I looked at him and simply said, "you DO know I know better. I can buy an extended warranty at any point from any dealer before I hit 3 yr/36,000..." His tune changed completely. He countered with a 6 yr/100K for $1,200 and I laughed again. I was honest and told him I had no issue with the dealer making money on the extended warranty.

Last time I bought a new car 10 years ago (not a Toyota), the first dealer offer for a manufacturer extended warranty (from the dealer F&I guy) was $3,500, then $2,500, then $2,000. I said no each time and I found out later that the dealer cost was about $1,250. I still own the car and have not had any problems with it.
