The R21 is a major north–south provincial route (with a freeway portion designated as a National Road) in eastern Gauteng Province, South Africa. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Built in the early 1970s, it remains one of two freeways (the other being the N1) linking Pretoria with Johannesburg, via the R24.
The M41 begins in Jet Park, in the far northern part of Boksburg (south of Kempton Park), at a T-junction with the M57 road (Pretoria Road). It begins by going eastwards to cross the R21 highway and reach a T-junction with Jones Road south of O. R. Tambo International Airport, near the South African Airways headquarters.

The R21 is a North-South Freeway, with its terminal in Vosloorus in the south and connects with the OR Tambo International, Kempton Park and Pretoria in the north. The R29 is an east–west regional route that is connecting Boksburg with Benoni in the East and with Germiston in the west.
