The Academy's most famous basketball alumnus, however, is Gregg Popovich , a Hall of Fame coach who has led the San Antonio Spurs to five NBA titles to date.
Air Force is one of the premier rushing teams in the nation. Since Fisher DeBerry took over as Falcons head coach in 1984, they have ranked among the nation's top 10 in rushing 19 times in 21 years. The Air Force football team has enjoyed success not only on the field but also in the classroom.

The Air Force Falcons men's soccer program represents the United States Air Force Academy in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. Founded in 1956, the Falcons compete as associate members in the Western Athletic Conference. They are coached by Doug Hill and Assistant Coach Chris Foster.
The program began in 1955 as an independent; Air Force joined the Western Athletic Conference in 1980 and later moved to the Mountain West. During this sixty-two year period, the Falcons have had seven head coaches. [1] Troy Calhoun has been the head coach of the program since December 2006, following Fisher DeBerry's retirement. [2]
The 1970 Air Force Falcons football team represented the United States Air Force Academy as an independent during the 1970 NCAA University Division football season.Led by thirteenth-year head coach Ben Martin, the Falcons compiled a record of 9–3, outscored their opponents 366–239, and finished No. 16 in the AP Poll.
