The 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season was announced on July 10, 2024. [1] It will be the 70th season of the National Hot Rod Association's top drag racing competition. This season will also feature the 60th anniversary of the NHRA Finals. The NHRA will host 20 events this season. Top Fuel and Funny Car will compete at all 20 events.
Cooling is via one or two externally mounted radiators. Lubrication is by use of pre-mixed fuel and oil at 50:1 or oil injection. The 618 has dual Ducati capacitor discharge ignition systems and is equipped with two piston-type carburetors. It uses a manifold-driven pneumatic fuel pump to provide fuel pressure. [1]
Methanol fuel is also used extensively in drag racing, primarily in the Top Alcohol category, while between 10% and 20% methanol may be used in Top Fuel classes in addition to Nitromethane. Formula One racing continues to use gasoline as its fuel, but in prewar grand prix racing methanol was often used in the fuel.
