Embankment is a London Underground station in the City of Westminster, known by various names during its history. It is served by four lines: Bakerloo , Circle , District and Northern . On the Bakerloo line and the Charing Cross branch of the Northern line, the station is between Charing Cross and Waterloo stations.
The phrase "mind the gap" can be heard at each station along Dublin's DART and at all stations in the city centre. The message can be seen in some train stations in the rest of Ireland. On Commuter and InterCity trains, the phrase "Please mind the gap" is accompanied by the Irish "Seachain an Bhearna le bhur dtoil" when pulling into stations.
The gap was created by the removal of embankments and bridges during the 1980s and the restoration project has been branded Bridge to the Future and Bridging the Gap. From south-to-north the route crosses the Grand Union Canal , Railway Terrace road, a Factory car park, four-track Midland Main Line at Loughborough railway station and the A60 road .
