Florence Nightingale (/ ˈ n aɪ t ɪ ŋ ɡ eɪ l /; 12 May 1820 – 13 August 1910) was an English social reformer, statistician and the founder of modern nursing.Nightingale came to prominence while serving as a manager and trainer of nurses during the Crimean War, in which she organised care for wounded soldiers at Constantinople. [4]

Selina Bracebridge (née Mills; 1800 – 1874) was a British artist, medical reformer, and travel writer. Selina Bracebridge studied art under the celebrated artist Samuel Prout, and travelled widely as part of her art education. [1] She married Charles Holte Bracebridge (1799-1872) in 1824, and lived in Athens for much of the 1830s. [2]
