The following are lists of waterfalls in the world by height, classified into two categories — natural and artificial. Natural waterfalls are further subdivided between overall height and tallest single drop. A waterfall is included if it has an existing article specifically for it on Wikipedia, and it is at least 15 m (50 ft) high, or the falls have some historical significance based on multiple reliable references. There is no standard way to measure the height or width of a waterfall.
The World Waterfall Database lists 7,827 as of 2013, but this is likely incomplete; as noted by Hudson, over 90% of their listings are in North America. Many guidebooks to local waterfalls have been published. [3] There is also no agreement how to measure the height of a waterfall, [1] or even what constitutes one. [3]
Dolan Falls is a waterfall about 15 feet (4.6 m) tall and is located at about 16.9 miles (27.2 km) and must be avoided. Past Dolan Falls at about 19 miles (31 km) is Three Tier Rapids, a class four rapid most of the year, but when the river swells, can be a short class 5 and should be attempted by only the more experienced paddlers.

The park was dedicated on April 14, 1976 by Texas Governor Dolph Briscoe and opened to the public on April 15. The Texas Legislature also approved funds for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to construct new state offices on a bluff on the northern edge of the donated land.
