Nellore Airport is a proposed greenfield airport project near Dagadarthi, India, intended to serve the Nellore district. The airport is to be developed on 1,352 acres (5.47 km 2 ) of land with an estimated cost of ₹ 368 crore (equivalent to ₹ 457 crore or US$53 million in 2023).
It was part of Nellore Lok Sabha constituency along with other six Vidhan Sabha segments, namely, Kandukur in Prakasam district, and Kavali, Atmakur, Nellore City, Nellore Rural and Udayagiri in Nellore district.
Allur was chosen as the fourth mission after Nellore, Ramayapatnam and Ongole in the district. An American Baptist church with 44 members was established in 1873 by Mr. Edwin Bullard. He abandoned Allur mission in 1874 and made it as the outstation for Nellore mission.
