On 22 August 2015, a former military aircraft crashed onto a main road during an aerial display at the Shoreham Airshow at Shoreham Airport, England, killing 11 people and injuring 16 others. It was the deadliest air show accident in the United Kingdom since the 1952 Farnborough Airshow crash , which had killed 31 people.

July 10 – Pilots Jimmy Franklin and Bobby Younkin were killed in a mid-air collision during a dogfight routine at the Saskatchewan Centennial Air Show in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. At the time of the accident, Franklin was piloting a Waco UPF-7 biplane, and Younkin was piloting a Wolf-Samson biplane, a 1980s replica of the 1948 Pitts Samson .

[2] Following the 2015 Shoreham Airshow crash, it was announced in January 2016 that the 2016 event was cancelled, [3] and it has not been held since. [4]

The planned 2013 Show was canceled due to Budget Cuts in Congress known as sequestration. The show did not take place in 2014 either because the organizers failed to book a head-lining military act. That year however, the Blue Angels announced their 2015 schedule which included the Great State of Maine Air Show. [4]
