Established in 1895, Africa Inland Mission (AIM) is a Christian mission sending agency focused on Africa. Their stated mission is to see "Christ-centered churches established among all African peoples." [1] AIM established the Kapsowar Hospital in 1933. It developed into the Africa Inland Church (AIC), based in Kenya.
The mission almost dissolved in the next year when most of the workers either died or resigned, but Peter Cameron Scott's vision of the network of mission stations extending to the centre of Africa has ultimately been fulfilled with churches established throughout East Africa, and in most other countries of the continent. [1]
A third attempt in 1902 succeeded, which finally established a base 500 miles inland in Patigi, Nigeria. In 1906, the mission was once renamed "Sudan Interior Mission." [5] After the initial base was set up, the mission branched out into other countries in West Africa, and then in the 1920s, to East Africa.

Margaret Nicholl Laird (31 July 1897 – June 1983) was an American missionary of the Baptist Mid-Missions who worked in the French colony of Ubangi-Shari and independent Central African Republic (CAR) from 1922 until the 1960s. She was one of the founders and longest serving missionaries of the Baptist Mid-Missions in the CAR.
