Epsom and Ewell (/ ˈ juː əl, juː l /) is a local government district with borough status in Surrey, England, covering the towns of Epsom and Ewell. The borough lies just outside the administrative boundary of Greater London , but it is entirely within the M25 motorway which encircles London .
The ticket office and main entrance is on the London-bound side, accessed from Cheam Road. On the Epsom-bound side, there is an additional entrance from a footpath linking the Cheam Road with Reigate Road near the North East Surrey College of Technology. It was opened on 10 May 1847 with the Croydon and Epsom Railway.
Epsom and Ewell Harriers is a club for track and field athletes, based at the Poole Road Track in Ewell. [238] Epsom Cycling Club was founded in 1891 and is one of the oldest in the country. The club arranges organised rides and regular time trials in the local area. [239]

Ewell West railway station is one of two stations serving the town of Ewell in Surrey, England. The station is served by South Western Railway . It is 12 miles 78 chains (20.9 km) down the line from London Waterloo .
In 1859 a joint venture between the LBSCR and the London and South Western Railway (LSWR) extended the LSWR from Wimbledon to Epsom, where it joined with the LBSCR, and then ran on to Leatherhead. The lines were connected south of the LBSCR station and a new Epsom station was established on the present site.
