Queen Victoria School (QVS) is a non-selective, co-educational, boarding school predominantly for children of Scottish servicemen and women aged 10/11 to 18. It occupies a Scottish Baronial -style building on a rural campus just outside Dunblane , a short distance away from the city of Stirling , Scotland.
Wallace High School was founded in 1971 to provide education to children of northern and north-eastern Stirling. [1] The catchment area is Bridge of Allan, Castleview, Cornton, Fallin, Raploch, and Riverside. [1] The University of Stirling is in close proximity, and the school has formed strong links with the institution. [1]
This school stayed open until 1962, long after the Education (Scotland) Act 1872 which made education compulsory for children aged 5 to 13 and dramatically increased the intake of pupils for the school, when the school moved from its place at the top of the town, to Torbrex - the previous position of the High School.
